The first day of five o’clock hours wasn’t too bad; with the craziness among us it goes by fairly quickly. However, with this gloomy weather it got dark pretty early and by the time I was done cooking up some dinner, I felt like it was time for bed. But instead of snuggling in, I headed off to TARGET! I love it there. It’s actually quite addicting. But I stuck to my budget and walked out with what I went in for- chalk. And a card, of course. (I have a box of cards, I think you would say I’m a collector of cards.) And why would I need chalk you ask?
Well, I found this piece of scrap metal (looks like it was used in car garages) and thought how perfect this could be as a chalkboard in my kitchen. It even had the metal string-thing on top. So, there it sat on my table for about a month. And last night I decided to paint it. Total cost: 99 cents! Metal: free. Chalkboard Paint: left over from the kiddos (free!). Paintbrush: free. Box of 32 pcs chalk: that’s right, 99 cents. Little scrubbin’ and chalk design, wa-la!
And, because it’s made out of the heavy metal, it’s also magnetic! This is the best 15 minutes/99 cents spent. You know me and lists, I had to get started. :]
I’ve already had a taker for the trip down to Texas, which is awesome! We just have to talk it over and see if it’s going to work. I didn’t take into consideration the weather. I forgot that it was going to be December, which means much lower temperatures than last summer, but that’s nothing to worry about as long as we don’t hit snow. And a lot of it. Lindsey’s trying to talk me into flying, but I guess it all depends on how many cans I collect. It’s ideas like this that keep me up at night with anticipation.
