Dear Taylor: the fact that you can whip up delicious sauces for any dinner, any day of the week is worth my weight in gold. Dear Self: Six years ago you were feeling so alone, so sad, so disappointed and so lost. Six years ago today you said goodbye to a best friend and first love, but you also learned a very valuable lesson: love is NOT worth fighting for. Dear Goldfish: as the beau says, “typically kids win fish at the fair and the parents are stuck caring for them. We’re stuck caring for the fish your mom won.” I’m working on convincing the beau to keep you and adding an aquarium to the office. I say it’s very zen. And I promise to name you soon. Dear Husband: Love is worth working for. Every day I work toward being a better roommate, a better communicator and a better lover of your music. Okay, Grandpa?
Write someone you love a note – your partner, your parent, your child – it doesn’t have to be mushy, just show them that you’re working toward being a better part of their life.
