weigh in update: -0.8 pounds! Total loss in 2 weeks: 5 pounds! I was kinda dissappointed when I stepped on the scale yesterday, but I have to keep reminding myself that I don’t have 50+ pounds to loose, so it won’t come off at the rate of four pounds each week. I got my five pound reward last night in front of the group and was asked if I had any tips. My response: eat clean. And they all seemed shocked with the answer I then had to define. One woman’s response: wait, you don’t eat anything with a barcode? Nah lady, I try very hard not to. Processed foods and sugars = cavities and decay.
And what does one eat when they have a positive weigh in and is starving: according to her boyfriend, Red Robin. Confession: a dinosaur bbq opened up in downtown Troy and evey night when I take a walk, it smells so very good. I was craving a pulled pork sandwhich. But, the lines were so long and they don’t take reservations, so Joe chose Red Robin. I was not happy and dreading the food (because last time it made me sick) but I compromised and went. And despite the grease, fat and high temptation, it was a super night. Things between the two of us have been tense this past week, but last night was a keeper. I was smiling the whole way home, snuggled into bed and passed out. I felt bad but I think he understands that this week has been dragging and it will only get worse over the next three weeks.
On a side note, a woman in my office has to get rid of her (well, her son’s dog). He moved to Colorado and can’t afford him any longer. This woman loves Mr. Bojangles but he needs someone to be home most of the day- he has anxiety. He doesn’t chew or ruin the home, but does make “accidents” in the house. If anyone would like any further information, contact me and I’ll get back to you ASAP. Isn’t he the cutest? No aggression at all- he’s a timid little boy.HUGE UPDATE! I got the news while typing… Lindsey, my bestest friend in Texas, is moving to Boston before Christmas! No words can describe how happy I am- it’s funny how things work out. I couldn’t go visit her over Christmas break because of the race, but now with her this close, I might be able to run it with her. And ring in the new year! She’ll no longer be a $300+ flight away, only three hours! Life is good.
