I wasn’t planning on posting this evening, but the most brilliant idea has come to mind! And when I get these brilliant ideas, I usually act on them. Well, it all started when…
… I was pretty bored lying around reading my book. But I wanted to go out, maybe see a movie. I read Eat, Pray, Love maybe two years ago? and dread seeing books that have been turned into films, BUT, I do love Julia Roberts, and figured why not. And as much as I don’t mind doing things like such alone, I wanted a pal. But my few pals were either working, already engaging in prior plans or with their significant others. Which made me think about my bestest Lindz who let me read her copy of the book, and would have loved to go with me. Which made me think about going to see her!
And why not? It’s been a year since I was down there in Texas to see her. This is the first year that I won’t be going to Aruba for Thanksgiving, so by the time I have enough vacation time I’ll be do for some relaxation… but WAIT! I then remembered I’ll be taking four graduate courses and won’t be able to skip those, so the earliest I’ll be able to leave is… CHRISTMAS! The college is closed for two weeks so I will have paid time off and won’t have to use up my vacation (aka I’ll be able to save those for random days). Of course she wants me to fly down and can’t wait to ring in the new year with me! I’m psyched and have already begun looking up ticket prices.
Which leads me to my next goal. Of purchasing this ticket with cans. That’s right, nickels. I have no extra money with this position, rent, car payment, etc… so I hardly have a savings. That little fact doesn’t scare me but prevents me from random large purchases such as roundtrip plane ticket. So, watch out Troy I’m hitting the streets! I personally don’t drink anything from a can, but will collect them from anyone who does. I’ll need about $350 worth, so that’s at least 7,000 cans. You see them on the side of the road (maybe a little added exercise I see in my future) and you see them sitting on the side of the road/allies here in Troy, because someone will pick them up before the recycling man comes. So, the hunt is on. If you have cans, start saving ’em up for me and help me get to Houston! Please.
Lazy evening. Roscoe isn’t feeling his best, for the third day now. He sleeps in in the morning, doesn’t finish his meals, and well, things are a little messy. Poor thing. He doesn’t seem dehydrated so I’m not worried, yet. Time to get this poor kitty to bed. And read, but mostly think of how I’m going to get that many cans. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can ;]
