My holiday was spent in the middle of the woods in a little cabin that had a wood stove, close family and a simple yet delicious meal.
My mom ditched her traditional sausage stuffing for a vegetarian version, there was plenty of baked root veggies to fill my belly and hot peanuts roasting over the fire for me to snack on with my bottomless glass of red wine.
After dinner we played a mean game of dominos; an Abeel family tradition with ivory pieces that are over thirty years old.
And when I crawled into bed to share my day with the beau and for him to share his news, I knew right then and there that I was in the place I’m suppose to be. No doubts about it, I’ve made only the right decisions.
