For those of you who don’t know me personally, you probably wouldn’t know that I use essential oils every day in one form or another. Well, I do! I was first introduced to them years ago when I was working with the kiddos and continued to use them when I moved on and had my own place. The possibilities are endless and with this new series, I’m hoping to share with you my uses for essential oils and wonderful experiences.
Here are my disclaimers: I’ve recently become a distributor for Young Living (about two months ago). My decision behind this investment was not intended to have a second job “selling” oils; we all know I don’t have time for that! The decision was made because frankly, I use them so often, I wanted the wholesale prices! I’m sharing this information with my readers because I don’t want anyone to be “surprised” to find out that I have an account with them and yes, do have the opportunity to make cash with this amazing company. It really is no different from posting an affiliated link to say, ModCloth. Think of it like joining Sam’s Club with a 24% discount off all products without the membership fees. But the best part is, you too have the opportunity to enjoy the wholesale discounts- not just random bloggers! I’m not going to discuss them further on this site unless you personally reach out to me because as stated before, my intentions for sharing this series is not to make money, but to share what I’ve learned. If after a couple of posts you’re interested in learning more, shoot me a message. I’ll be happy to chat.
Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, I’d like to also state that I am not a professional (doctor) and can’t recommend oils to cure diseases. The recipes I’m going to share can be used around your home and at the office. They can also be enjoyed at the dinner table! And the stories I tell will be first hand- without claims of solution to a specific medical ailment. I don’t want the FDA hounding this site, while they should be investigating the crap marketed to humans these days as F-O-O-D. But that’s a rant for another day (insert sarcastic smile).
Lastly, before jumping in, I’d like to explain why I chose Young Living. I’m drawn to essential oils because I don’t have an allergic reaction to oils like I do perfumes. I’m very sensitive to smells- walking into a room with a strong candle burning will almost instantly make me nauseous and/or give me a headache. They’ve become a habit in my life- being diffused on my night stand before bed or rubbed behind my ears when riding shotgun in the car. I don’t know if it’s the placebo effect or what, but they have seemed to help me in more than one aspect of my life. And if I’m constantly using a substance on my body and in my home, I want it to be as pure as can be- and Young Living I believe is the best on the market. They pride themselves with their “seed to seal” process, with a tight-chain farming system. I personally do not ingest essential oils for additional health benefits but their oils can be consumed internally; you can’t say that about every oil on the market.
Phew! That’s a lot of information. Thanks for sticking it out. First up in this mini series: oils in our home… and the litter box! Stay tuned!
